Kayaking

After riding heckletooth, Mitch followed up with me to see if I wanted to shuttle him and Ders to go kayak and take some photos after they put in. I hadn’t hung out with Tatum and Jord a ton since the morning because I did two rides . . but Jord encouraged it. I decided to jump into the water with Tatum and Jord before taking off.

I rode with Ders on the way to the take out where we would drop mitch’s truck. It was a fun drive through oakridge over to westfir. In a lot of ways it reminded me of roads near the Red River Gorge. After we drove picked up Mitch we drove along the river to where they would put in. I was stoked! I might have been more stoked than they were. The water was ripping and the colors were super cool. As we were driving the were several ledgey and rocky rapids that looked awesome.

Mitch suggested I drive up past where I dropped them just to check out a canyon where the river goes through because they would take some time to get to the first potentially cool looking rapid. The canyon was epic!

Recently I followed a dude on Instagram who lives somewhere in switzerland that splitboards and shoots photos of Kayakers. He has some awesome shots and he uses all Fuji - so I had a shot of his in mind while I was looking for spots. The shot he took was from above the scene slightly and zoomed. The rock in the photo created a frame for the super blue water and then the kayaker popped in the blue. I was trying to find spot from slightly above but pretty much every spot I got had to be next to the water because the vegetation was so thick.
