EARLY MOMENTS
One of my favorite first moments was on the first night back in our house. We had attempted to go to sleep and Tatum woke up. I decided to try to change her diaper and re-swaddle her. It was near pitch black as I walked to Tatum’s room with her in my arms. She was wailing and I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t know where anything was at and even if I found the things I was looking for I didn’t know what to do with them or how to use them. I was stressed and unprepared. I looked to find Jackson sitting closely behind me, squinting in the dark. It was a Marley and me type moment and I have zero doubt that he knew what he was doing. He was there to let me know we could figure it out together. My stress went away as I chuckled to myself realizing how special everything about that moment felt. I got Tatum awkwardly swaddled up. Back to bed!
