First pow day

EARLY START

Prior to Friday afternoon the plan was to ski Tam rim. The snow was supposed to start Friday and dump heavy Friday night. JC drove out to three creeks on Thursday and saw no snow - so we decided we would go to Todd Lake. Todd Lake means start at Dutchman Snowpark . . . Which is usually a completely junkshow. It is especially crowded when people haven’t skied in a long time and we finally get snow. The best bet is to have an early start. Bobby decided the best time to leave town would be 5am. This means I would leave to get to Bobby’s around 440am. Bobby could tell I wasn’t fully stoked on the new plan but knew it was the smartest move.

I checked the Mt. Bachelor live video of the snow stake a few times before going to bed. There was absolutely no snow. I sent a text to bobby wondering if its less than 5 inches if he would be down to bail. He replied, “no, no more waiting for perfect skiing this year. No checking the cam were going to ski”. I got a good laugh out of it and part of me agreed. Another part of me knew that the likelihood of us getting enough coverage was low.

At 4am I checked the snow stake. 1 inch. I almost bailed but
